The one food you must avoid if you want a flat belly

Is it chocolate chip muffin? French fries with mayonnaise? Soft drinks with corn syrup? Nutella filled doughnuts with extra chocolate glaze? These are definitely among ’the worst”, full of bad carbs, empty calories and fat but the no. 1 worst food is not (necessarily) amongst them.

The worst one of all is the one that you can’t stop eating until you’re full or even feel sick. Think about it! It is the food that you know you can’t and won’t have just one. Does it sound familiar? Do you know what’s your ‘worst’ food yet? Unfortunately our cravings tend to focus on crisps, ice cream and Nutella, so the answer in your case is possibly not the broccoli or the cucumber either. Everybody has a „worst personal food”, that one she can’t resist and always has a good reason to eat it.

If you could identify yours, you have to try everything to avoid them. Don’t keep them in the cupboard or in the fridge at all so there’s no temptation. Make a list of the three worst snacks then get rid of them now! If you go shopping, don’t even go to that part of the store where they sell them, cause if you have some at home, the time might come, when you don’t be strong enough…

 

What else to do?

 

  • Do not go grocery shopping when you’re hungry. Hunger makes you   buy more stuff of the unhealthy types and the ones with more calories in them. Especially avoid sweet treats.
  • Stop starving yourself. The more hungry you are the more likely you choose bad carbs. Try to eat 4-5 times a day and carefully chose what you eat, because that’s more important than how much you eat.
  • Instead of some sweet treats, have a glass of water with lemon, it makes you less likely to crave sweets.
  • Have protein with every meal, it helps to lower your blood sugar level thus reduces the chances of gaining weight. Protein is also good for your muscles and digesting protein requires extra energy, so this effect also gives you some free calories.
  • If you were tempted by bad carbs, have a natural protein shake with them as well. Although it won’t get rid of the extra calories you had, but it can make things less bad and at least you had some useful nutrients with those extra calories.
